Better Get Better, My Friend

Well I just read a post in Facebook that a customer turned friend of mine, is going in the hospital for surgery tomorrow!  So naturally I ran down to My Stampin’ Space to make her a card.

The sketch was inspired by the Mojo Monday sketch challenge and the delicious color combination came from The Paper Players Color Challenge # PP204.

IMG_3596I sure hope that this will brighten the day of my friend while she is recuperating!  I think this lovely color combo will make anyone happy.

This is my time playing with the Paper Players!  I’m excited to participate in their challenge.

I used Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss, and Mossy Meadow (all new colors from Stampin’ Up!’s 2014-16 In-Color collection) and Wisteria Wonder for my color palette.  I used the hostess set “Bloom With Hope” for the flowers which were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored using the blender pens and classic ink.  The sentiment comes from A Dozen Thoughts.  The icing on the cake comes from the Wisteria Wonder Seam Binding Ribbon.  It makes such drapey bows, so feminine!  I love seam binding ribbon and I’m so glad that so many new colors have been added!.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space today!  Please feel free to leave me a comment and let me know how you like this card.  If you are inspired to make this card, and need to order any supplies; click here to go to my store, or click on any item below.

Happy Stampin’,

Nancy

Playing with the Pals

The Pals Paper Arts challenge this week is a color combination I absolutely adore!    http://stampinpretty.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54f95df92883401a3fd2da6fa970b-pi

The Challenge is simple:  just create a project using these 3 colors!  My answer:

IMG_3592 I used “Endless Birthday Wishes” stamp set for the image & sentiment.  I stamped with Night of Navy & Daffodil Delight ink on Whisper White cardstock.  My circle was cropped out and placed on a scalloped circle punched from Night of Navy Card stock.  This Daffodil Delight cardstock strip features a piece of coordinating Designer Series paper.   Solid color card stock  was punched with the flag end banner punch to create the little flags.  A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels adds some bling!

IMG_3593Since this card was being mailed out to someone special (all of my Stamp Club members get a handmade card from me on their birthday!) I wanted the envelope to be as special as the card.

IMG_3591I also lined the inside of the envelope with coordinating Daffodil Delight paper, but…..I didn’t take a picture of it and I’ve already sealed the envelope, ready to send!  So you’ll just have to take my word that the lined envelope really adds a classy touch!

I love the way that Stampin’ Up! coordinates their products and their Designer Series Pape (DSP) brings our color collections to life!  Now is a great time to stock up on your favorite papers too with our Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale!

New Hues Review: 28 projects to get your creative juices flowing!

Welcome to the July Pals Blog Hop. This month we are featuring a New Hues Review. Let the new Stampin’ Up! In Colors for 2014-16 inspire you – With 28 bloggers participating, we hope you will find great inspiration from our creations!  Let me start by introducing the new colors to you:  Blackberry Bliss, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, and Tangelo Twist.

color collections

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven’s Retreat on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

When the new 2014-2016 In-Colors were introduced, I immediately fell in love with Blackberry Bliss.   Paired with Hello, Honey, it became a color combination I reached for over & over again (thanks in part to the new Moonlight DSP Paper stack).

IMG_3452[1] IMG_3453-002

See what I mean about this color combination? And the Moonlight DSP?  Don’t you just love the Blackberry Bliss ribbon as much as I do?  I used the new “Work of Art” stamp set for these cards.

While I really was getting mileage out of these two colors, I had somewhat neglected the other colors.   So I created the next card purposefully to expand my horizons and reach for other colors.  I used Hello, Honey, Tangelo Twist and Lost Lagoon in this card. Ok, so maybe I didn’t reach too far because it still uses Hello Honey as a primary color but at least I did resist the urge to pair it with Blackberry Bliss!   Instead I choose Tangelo Twist with an accent of Lost Lagoon. IMG_3526

This card features heat embossing and emboss resist as well as a watercoloring  technique.  It uses the new “Bloom with Hope” hostess stamp set.  The sentiment comes from “A Dozen Thoughts”.  The flower was heat embossed using Versamark ink and White embossing powder.  My aqua painters were used to create the watercolored background and to color the flower.  The ribbon is Lost Lagoon and I have to tell you how much I love this new 3/8″ Stitched Satin In-Color ribbon;  I have already used an entire roll of Blackberry Bliss Ribbon and Hello Honey Ribbon!  That’s alot of ribbon!  But thank goodness, I can still buy more – oh, don’t worry!   I already have.  I’m on my second roll of each of those colors!

Please let me know what you like about my projects and don’t forget to tell me which of the new colors is your favorite color!   Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space today.  If you want to order these products, or any others, please stop by my on-line and shop securely.   Just click on any hi-lighted item above or click on any item in the table below.  Thanks!

Another Way to use your Pinwheels

I shared with you an ‘out of the box’ way to use some of the pinwheels from the June Paper Pumpkin kit and here’s another really clever way to use them!  This was created by one of the ladies in my  Stamp Club.  Christy Seaman is really crafty and I was so excited to see how she used some of her pinwheels that I asked her if I could share her idea with you.  She agreed so here it is:

IMG_6095Mason Jars are so popular right now and Christy combined this trendy subject material with the Pinwheel she created as well as some pennant flags stamped with the stamps provided in the kit, tied everything up with some sparkly patriotic ribbon, and voila, a gift jar suitable for filling with all sorts of treats.

(Personally, I think it would be great filled with M&M’s!)  I would love that!  What would you like to see in your jar?

If you don’t already subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin, what are you waiting for?  It’s a complete craft kit in a box, shipped right to your door each month, for only $19.95!   Each month, a different project.  Instructions are included but most kits can be used in a myriad of ways, like I’ve been showing you here.

Please do yourself a favor, and sign-up now!  You need to sign up before July 10th to get the July kit.  You can also ‘gift’ a subscription to someone else.  You can prepay for a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month subscription.  The subscription can also be added to an on-line order, or a customer workshop order.  Savings are offered on the 6 & 12 month subscriptions.   Subscriptions need to be redeemed (either by you or your gift recipient) before the 10th of the month to receive that months’ kit.

You can make these pinwheels from any square of double sided  Designer Series Paper.  And now in July, you can buy 3 get 1 free of our exclusive DSP

Leave me a comment and tell me what you think about Christy’s pinwheel mason jar.  I’ll be sure to pass along all those comments to Christy.  This is her first debut on my blog so I want to make sure my readers give her a warm welcome.  Thanks!   Nancy

Pinwheels & Patriotic Pennants

I have to say the June Paper Pumpkin is my favorite kit so far!  I just LOVE the pinwheels!  The kit is so appropriate for our Independence Day decor and just for summer decor too!  The pinwheels, the clear bags for cookies & baked treats, the clips & brads & baker’s twine, the printed straws – there is so much in this kit.  And let’s not forget about the Stamp Set & ink pad.

IMG_3540[1]

While I had so much fun making pinwheels (there are 24 pieces of double sided paper cut & punched for pinwheels), I used some of the paper to make pennants too!  I decided to glue a few pinwheels to a grapevine wreath and make another Patriotic decor item too!

IMG_3541[1]

I used some burlap ribbon and demin jean ribbon to wrap around the grapevine wreath, then I glued 3 pinwheels on the left.  I cut a square of the DSP into quarters to make 4 triangles, then clipped the corners to make these pennants.   The new Star Framelits dies made easy work of making a few stars from Real Red cardstock and Silver Glimmer Paper.

I made several Pinwheels for myself, shared them with my Stamp Club so all the girls made pinwheels too, this wreath, and I still have supplies left over!

As a subscriber to My Paper Pumpkin, I can buy past Paper Pumpkin kits and refill kits.  If you didn’t get the June Paper Pumpkin kit, and now are feeling left out, and wanting this kit, subscribe to Paper Pumpkin now so you won’t miss the July kit, and so you can order the June kit!  See how easy that is?   You can have it all!

Did you know that you can subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin and have it delivered to your door every month, or you can order a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month subscription.  Subscriptions can even be ‘gifted’ to someone else so you can share this with a friend or loved one.  To learn more about subscriptions, click here.

Leave me a comment and let me know how you like my patriotic wreath.  What will you make with your kit?

Peace, Love & Cupcakes

My three step-daughters all have their birthdays in June.  So when the new catalog made its’ debut June 1st, I was on the look-out for stamps to make birthday cards.

The card on page 52 using the “Peace, Love & Cupcakes” stamp set just screamed Lisa’s name so that stamp went right to the top of my must-have list.   When I sat down to make her card, I CASE’d the card exactly!  Sometimes you know perfection when you see it!

IMG_3522Isn’t this card just adorable?  I love that the new Sweetheart Punch (page 222) also coordinates with the heat shape in this stamp set.  I also love that the Stampin’ Up! catalogs aren’t just product catalog but are idea & inspiration books too!  Sometimes I get great ideas, or color combinations, layouts, etc. right from the pages of the catalog.  And this new catalog is thru the roof with ideas!

If you want to order this stamp set, the coordinating punch or any other Stampin’ Up! product, you can shop online thru my store here.  If you want a new 2014/15 Catalog, and don’t have a relationship with a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, let me know and I’ll be happy to mail you a catalog of your own.  Just email me and ask for a catalog!

Where do you get your inspiration from?  Leave me a comment and tell me where you find your creative streak.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space today, please come back.  I have a few other birthday cards to share with you.

Welcome to the June Pals Blog Hop. This month we are excited to show off new Stampin’ Up! products from the just released 2014-15 annual catalog and idea book. We hope you find great inspiration from the projects. Get your wish list ready!

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Deb Simonis on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

June Blog Hop

One of my favorite new products in the new 2014/15 Catalog is the new In-Color Collection!  I am learning to love all of the new colors.  I immediately gravitated towards Blackberry Bliss and Hello, Honey, and the beautiful combination those two colors made.  I’m now really learning to appreciate Lost Lagoon and it really stands well on its’ own.  It really needs just a pop of color, just an accent, to make this color shine.   This card shows off how beautiful Lost Lagoon is.

The image is the stamp “Blended Bloom“.  This large flower bloom is so versatile; it’s a perfect stamp for watercoloring, or coloring with our new Blendabilities markers, but it also is a great stamp on it’s own.  I chose to stamp this image and the sentiment in Lost Lagoon ink on whisper white cardstock and layer it on top of a piece of DSP from the Moonlight DSP paper stack.

The new 3/8″ stitched satin ribbon is so lovely; it’s soft & silky but stands up to hold a bow and knots so beautifully.  The ribbon adorning this card is also Lost Lagoon and it is available in all 5 of the new in-colors.    A little accent of Hello, Honey and a rhinestone jewel provide just the right accent and pop of color.

Do you recognize the sentiment?  If you subscribe to My Paper Pumpkin then you will.  It was part of the “Hey, Man” May kit.  If you are not a subsciber to the Paper Pumpkin kit, then what are you waiting for?  This is the monthly craft kit that comes to your doorstep each month, providing you all the supplies you need to make a project each month.   You can get your magical paper crafting escape right here and join the fun each month.  Click here for all the deets on My Paper Pumpkin.

It’s Here!!!!!

Today is the day that we’ve been waiting for!  The new 2014/15 annual Stampin’ UP! catalog makes its’ debut today! Are you as excited as I am?

2014/15 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog

If you have already received your catalog, you’ve probably spent hours pouring over the pages, absorbing every new item, every project, and just loving all the new kits and products lines. If this is the first time you’re seeing the catalog, well then click on the catalog cover and start flipping pages! I’ll wait.

I’m so excited about the Project Life product line. I may finally get a scrapbook finished! And the new dies; especially the French fry & hamburger box dies! Aren’t they to ‘die’ for?

About the new In-Colors for 2014-16? I hWatermarked Photoave to admit, I wasn’t immediately ‘in love’ with these colors, but after seeing them in person and playing with them, I like them more & more. Blackberry Bliss is definitely one of new favorite colors ever! And Hello, Honey…that is going to be my new go-to yellow. In fact, these two colors have become my new favorite color combination – I just can’t stop combining these colors! Thanks too in part from the delicious new paper stack, Moonlight! (order # 133701) It combines some of the new In-Colors in hip, trendy patterns.

I have had the Work of Art stamp set (#134111-w/#134114-c) on page 165 since the catalog premiere and I LOVE IT!   The stamp set I’m most waiting to order? Peace, Love & Cupcakes on page 53 (#134159-w/#134162-c). My 3 step-daughters have their birthdays in June, and I can’t wait to make birthday cards with this set. (And it coordinates with our new Sweetheart Punch, the new full-figured heart punch #133786 – you know how much I love coordinating products!)

Ribbon? So many new ribbons in this catalog. I’ve had the 3/8” Stitched Satin Ribbon in the new In-Colors and it ties such a neat bow; it is sturdy enough to hold it’s shape but is smooth & satiny. But what I’m excited about? All the new colors of seam binding ribbon! 7 new colors along with our returning favorites. Which reminds me, I still have 2 openings in the Seam Binding Ribbon share. What is a ribbon share? It’s a great way to get lots of ribbon in lots of colors without breaking the bank! Click here to see my blog post about the Ribbon Shares. Email me if you’d like to participate in one of my Ribbon Shares. (The new In-Color Ribbon Share and Silver & Gold Ribbon Shares are full, but I have a waiting list for each of these. 4 participants are needed per share so if you’d like to join one of these, I’ll let you know if I fill the share).

So, how about you? I’ve shared some of my favorites, but what are your favorites? What items are at the top of your ‘must-have’ list? Click here to go right to my on-line store and start ordering your favorites. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.

“Out With the Old” Pals Blog Hop!

Welcome to the May Pals Blog Hop. This is the first hop on our new day – the 2nd Wednesday of the month. Before we celebrate the release of the new Stampin’ Up! catalog next month, we want to take time to say goodbye to our favorite retiring products. This month we are showcasing projects that feature stamps or accessories that are retiring along with the 2013-14 Idea Book & Catalog on June 4th.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Jackie Diediker at Stampin’ Jackie  Stop #4 on the Pals Hop.   If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog.

IMG_3402  Good-bye, Hello!  Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space!  Today’s project features a Stamp Set and colors that we are saying “Good-bye” to.  So, good-bye “Hello”.

The sentiment comes from the stamp set “My Friend” which will be retiring.  I just love the swirls in the lettering!  Who wouldn’t enjoy getting a card in the mail with such a pretty, swirly ‘hello’.  I heat embossed the sentiment in Early Espresso on top of a watercolor technique background of Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, & Summer Starfruit.  All of these colors are 2012-2014 In-Colors which means they are retiring also.  A piece of Summer Starfruit baker’s twine adds another pop of color.  The panel was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals onto a piece of Midnight Muse Cardstock.  The card base measures 5-1/2″ x 3″ which means it needs a custom envelope!  The envelope punch board turned a piece of In-Color DSP into a custom envelope in a jiffy! IMG_3404

I made the same panel again but this time, I placed it on a Gumball Green card base.  Which do you like better?

I love these three colors together;  blue, green & yellow are color families that just pair so well together.   Now, I have to admit that I did not like Summer Starfruit when I first saw it.  But the first time I paired it with Gray, my mind was changed in a heartbeat!  I just love Summer Starfruit and Basic Gray together.

Tell me what you think when you see these colors together.  So Sorry - gray  Don’t you just love it?  I’m so sorry to see Summer Starfruit go!   “So Sorry” is another stamp set that is retiring also.  I’m also sorry to say ‘good-bye” to this stamp set too.  It’s been my go-to stamp set when I’ve needed to make a sympathy card, a get-well card, or just plain apologize for being a blockhead!

So, there are many things that we are saying good-bye to, but you can still get these items while supplies last before they retire forever at the end of the month.

Check the retired lists here:  (Heads Up:  Many items have already sold out. )

A Flower Garden for Mom

mothers day  Today is Mother’s Day and I made this card for my mother-in-law.  She loves flowers so I thought a trellis with flowers growing upon it would make her smile!  I couldn’t wait to use my Hardwood background stamp.  It looks like a weather piece of wood, especially when stamped in shades of grey.  I used Smokey Slate ink on Smokey Slate cardstock to create a tone-on-tone image.

I had to use the Lattice Bigz die once more before it retires.

The flowers were created using the Petite Petals stamp set & coordinating punch.  (Bundle & Save!  when you purchase these together).  I used Daffodil Delight ink on both Daffodil Delight cardstock and Whisper White and I threw in a few flowers stamped in Hello Honey ink on Hello Honey cardstock.  I just had to use some of the new 2014-2016 In Colors!  A few candy dots became flower centers.  And because there was some grass growing at the bottom of the trellis, I had to use my new fringe scissors too!

The sentiment comes from the Loving Thoughts stamp set which is also retiring.

If you’d like to create a flower garden for your mom, click on any of the underlined product names, or on the shop button to the right and you’ll immediately and magically be transported to my on-line store where you can shop to your heart’s content!

And for all the Moms out there reading this today, there are thoughts of you today too!  Happy Mother’s Mom!

Stamp Happy,

Nancy
