Thanks, Hubby!

My husband surprised me this past weekend.  Our daughter’s wedding reception was on Saturday.  Friday night my husband told me to pack a bag, that we weren’t coming home after the reception!  He wouldn’t tell me where, but told me we would spending the rest of the weekend alone, together.  He even made arrangements for our son and my mother-in-law to get home from the reception, and for someone to stay with our son for the weekend!

So after the reception, he whisked me off to a beautiful bed and breakfast nestled in the countryside of Northeastern PA, in the beautiful town of Montrose.  Now I may be a wee bit biased here, because the Fieldstone Farms Bed & Breakfast is owned by my husband’s cousin.  But that aside, this place is magnificent!  b-b-with-sign2Nestled on 135 acres, the view out the window was of the barn & horse pastures.  A huge pond was the view from the other side of the house.   Birds were flocking to the feeders (yes, I’m a bird-nerd!).  Squirrels were content at the ground below.  The cats kept watch from the windows.  The home itself is quite impressive with the cherry floors & doors, crafted from trees felled right on the property.  The attention to detail in every area of the home’s construction were evident, as in the decor.

IMG_3371Kim made us an awesome breakfast!  (I always take pictures of food, I don’t know why – maybe it’s just because I love to eat and enjoy food that’s as good to look at as it is to eat!)

If you are in Northeast Pennsylvania and want a great place to stay out in the country, where you can get away from it all, this is the place to be!

I did mail a handmade card to Kim & Frank to thank them for a wonderful stay.  But, as I’m writing this post, I’m thinking that I should make a thank you card for my hubby for such a nice surprise getaway!   Stay tuned, I’ll get to work on that and let you know what I create.

But in the meantime, don’t you think it was just so wonderful of my hubby to make all the arrangements, including care for our son, and so many little details to surprise me with an impromtu weekend getaway?  He’s so like that.  Just one of the many reasons why, even after 25 years, I keep falling in love with him over & over!

Thanks for letting me share a little bit about my hubby with you.  Now go stamp something for someone you love; it’ll brighten their day!

Happy Stampin’,

Nancy

You can join Paper Pumpkin here on a month-to-month basis, or you can order a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month subscription here.  A subscription can be given as a gift; once you order the subscription you can either redeem the subscription yourself, or forward the email containing the redemption link to someone else.  (Save when you buy the 6 or 12 month subscription!)

FREE SHIPPING & Retirement Party!!!

If you’ve been around the Stampin’ Up! World for any time, you know that the new Annual Catalog makes its’ debut June 1st. (YAY!!!)  The new catalog always brings the anticipation of new products; new stamps, new accessories, new colors.  But,   in order to make way for the new, something old must go (Boo!).  We know for sure the 2012-2014 In-Colors will be saying good-bye! (Think Summer Starfruit, Gumball Green, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals, and Midnight Muse).       So anything in those colors will retire.     We also know that the DSP paper changes every year, as do the hostess only stamp sets.

Where do these products go when they retire?  Like any good American, they retire to Florida!

But who could retire without a proper send-off?  Stampin’ Up! publishes a Retiring List of all Stamps, and accessories well in advance of the new catalog so we have time to stock up on our favorites before they head south.  The RETIRING PRODUCT LISTS have just been published. (Click on the link below to view the PDF file)

demoheader_freeshipping_demo_4.18.2014-4.25.2014_US_CAAnd to help you say farewell, Stampin’ Up! Is offering FREE SHIPPING on all orders (expedited shipping orders excluded) from April 21st – 25th.

So get out your catalog, download the Retiring Stamps & Accessories lists, and order the items you want BEFORE THEY ARE GONE!    Products on this list will only be available while supplies last from this point forward.    (Heads up – Raspberry Ripple Stampin’ Ink Refill is already sold out!)

Join me on Facebook for a RETIREMENT PARTY  the evening of Monday, April 21st.  I’ll have my wish list of retiring products handy; we can compare orders!  I’ll even bring the chocolate (leftover from my Easter basket of course!  – I bought plenty so there’d be enough for everyone!)  CLICK HERE to access my on-line store where you can place your order securely, from the comfort of your own home, and have it delivered right to your doorstep!  Easy-Peasy 🙂

Remember, FREE SHIPPING is on all orders, whether of retiring product, current products, Clearance Rack items or items from the weekly deals.  It’s a good time to stock up on basic supplies like adhesive, envelopes, cardstock, etc.

See you on facebook Monday night.

Introducing a NEW WAY to SCRAPBOOK!

Project Life by Stampin’ Up!

I am so excited to let you know that Stampin’ Up! has partnered with the amazing Becky Higgins to bring you the real deal—authentic Project Life products, now in exclusive Stampin’ Up! colors and designs. If you’ve somehow missed the Project Life craze and are wondering what it’s all about, we’ll fill you in: it’s a super simple, totally affordable way to get your photos into albums: you just slip your photos into Photo Pocket Pages and add designed cards. It’s a back-to-basics approach to documenting your life. In a nutshell, it’s all about spending more time making memories and less time scrapbooking them.

You’ll be able to order a selection of Project Life products starting May 1! And with the launch of our new annual catalog on June 2, you’ll be able to buy from our complete line of Project Life products.

Can’t wait that long? Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be able to order the limited selection starting April 21. So if you’re a demonstrator make sure to check the demonstrator website that day; if you’re not a demonstrator, sign up and you can order the products early too!

How many unfinished scrapbook projects do you have right now?  I know I have several, including the first scrapbook I ever attempted.  A Bermuda Cruise to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary!  (We just celebrated our 25th! – that tells you how long its’ been since I started that scrapbook -still not done!)  Oh, and don’t worry, there are plenty of other scrapbooks that I’ve started, but none that are finished.

Why do I procrastinate?  Probably the same reason you do.  It takes too much time to get a page done, then I need all of my pages to coordinate.  I’m afraid they’ll all look the same without any creative differences to keep my pages unified yet unique.  It takes a lot of space to pull out all of my ‘stuff’ to make just one page, etc.   Sound familiar?  I bet you’re in the same boat as me.  But I believe Project Life is going to solve all of those problems for us.  So join my  team now, just to enjoy the demonstrator perks of ordering early and getting a discount.

Can’t wait to get your hands on some new stuff?

With Heartfelt Sympathy

IMG_3227It’s never easy when you have to make a sympathy card, but Stampin’ Up! has such beautiful stamp sets and paper that it’s easy to make a classy looking card that conveys the right message, whatever the occasion.

I needed to make a sympathy card today and I immediately turned to the “Simply Sketched” stamp set because I knew it contained just the right sentiment.  I also knew I wanted the card to be in shades of browns, so I pulled out the stash of my all-time favorite Designer Series Paper – Morning Mocha.  While this paper is now retired (I stocked up while it was available because I LOVED it so much), your favorite papers & stamp sets never truly retire when you get them in their virtual counterpart:  MDS!.  So if you missed out on this gorgeous paper while it was available, you can get it in MDS and use it forever!  How cool is that?

Want Morning Mocha DSP?  Click here and download the virtual paper!

This card started with a Very Vanilla card base.  A strip of Morning Mocha designer paper & a piece of Soft Suede cardstock make a neutral backdrop for the sentiment.  I used a piece of Early Espresso cardstock to layer behind the Very Vanilla.  I feel that layers add a classy touch, as well as a pop of color.

IMG_3230I used the leaf image stamped in Soft Suede ink.  I stamped it once, then again – without re-inking – to create a softer image.  The sentiment was stamped on top of this in Early Espresso.  This layer works great because I am picking up the same color I used to create the matt behind this layer.

By far, I think the star of show is the gorgeous double bow! IMG_3229 Stampin’ Up!’s  Seam Binding Ribbon in Crumb Cake is the perfect ribbon for this bow.  It falls so gently and has just the right amount sheen.

I also added a few Basic Jewels Pearls to draw your eye upward once it has taken in all the gorgeous-ness of this bow!  That may not be a real word, but I think it perfectly describes this bow so I’m going to use it!

I’ve made a few of these double bows in the last few days and I think I’m finally starting to get the hang of it!  They are not hard to make but, practice does make perfect!  So keep your eyes open;  I’ll be posting more cards with this bow on it in the next few days.

Have you made a double bow before?    Do you know how to make a double bow?  Would you like to learn?  Leave me a comment and tell me your thoughts.

I’m so delighted when you read my blog and leave me comments.  There are other ways you can follow me too!  You can Like me on Facebook, follow me on Pinterest, or follow me on YouTube.  You can also subscribe to my mailing list so you never miss a blog post.

I also am truly grateful for all of my readers who order from me; in person or on-line.  On-line ordering is simple and it’s open 24/7.  Just click on any of the hyperlinked items listed above, or click here to go directly to my online store.

And if you sign-up to my mailing list, and place a $50 on-line order (before shipping and tax) within the first 24 hours, you’ll get a FREE package of Basic Jewels from me as a thank you.  Right now you’ll also earn a FREE Sale-A-Bration item now thru March 31st.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space.

Happy Stampin’,

Nancy

Warning: Fun Time Ahead!

Burlap & Blooms WreathThe Burlap & Blooms Wreath Class was so much fun the other night, that I’ve decided to offer another class on Sat., April 12th from 1:00-5:30.   The class will be held at the Gleason Cabinet Co. showroom at 540 Gleason Dr., Moosic, PA.  Space is limited, so don’t delay or you’ll miss out.

That’s my wreath that I made, now proudly gracing my bathroom door!   We made all the flowers and wrapped the wreath in burlap ribbon.

Registration gets you the Burlap & Blooms Wreath Kit (item # 133333) from the Stampin’ Up! Spring catalog, AND secures your seat in the class.  Early bird pricing, thru March 31st, is only $28.00.    Beverages and snacks are provided, too!

Reserve your spot here:

Having doubts that you are not ‘crafty’ enough? Well, this kit is designed with all parts pre-cut so even a novice can produce a beautiful finished piece. At the last class, we had a novice papercrafter, and a 10-year old girl, and both made beautiful finished wreaths!    I provide instruction and help to ensure your project will turn out well, too!

So set aside your doubts, and treat yourself to a fun afternoon filled with new friends & laughter.  I promise you’ll go home with a beautiful finished wreath that you’ll be proud to have grace your home or to give as gift.

Where have I been?

I just looked at my blog and the last time I posted anything was a month ago!!! UGH!  Can it really be that long?

So, you’ve probably been wondering where I’ve been, and hopefully, missing me!  Well, I’ve just been BUSY, too busy actually.   Many of you know that I recently went full-time in my day job.  Getting used to that schedule has been tiring, to say the least.

Shortly after that transition (while still acclimating to the change)  I had a 4 week stamping class that I taught at our local Boscov’s department store one night a week.  I had a blast, met some great ladies and had fun sharing my love of paper crafting with them.  I can say that all of the ladies, (who have never paper crafted before) had fun too.  So much that several of them have joined/are joining me for other stamping classes.

My husband has also launched a new division to his business.  Gleason Cabinet Co. has been remodeling kitchens/bathrooms/etc. in the area for over 50 years.  His newest venture, BathroomXpress, is a foray into the one day bathroom remodeling business.  This was launched with 4 home show exhibits over 4 weekends, back to back. So, we have been working 7 days a week, for 4 weeks, and have been putting in many nights in order to get ready for these classes & shows.

So you can see why I said I’ve been TOO BUSY!   I still managed to make a few projects ( I need to relax & unwind and stampin’ is my way of doing that!) Eating & sleeping, and cleaning the house have had to get squeezed in there too.   So, pulling my computer to write a blog post – it just got put aside.

But, I should be getting back into the groove.  I want to share with you all the projects I’ve been making so watch for some more blog posts with projects to inspire you & your creativity.Free Gift with each $60 purchase! Only during Sale-A-Bration, Jan 28-March 31. Shop now.

Don’t forget, our biggest sale of the year, Sale-A-Bration is going on thru March 31st.  Free items from the S-A-B catalog with every $50 in product purchases, additional hostess benefits, and you can join Stampin’ Up!  and get $150 worth of products for only $99 during S-A-B.

Need a monthly paper escape?  Sign up before March 31st for MyPaperPumpkin, a monthly paper crafting kit delivered right to your doorstep, and get a Free set of In-Color Markers!  (Please choose me as your demonstrator – Nancy Gleason 18507)  Thanks!

Thanks for visiting My Stampin Space today.  Remember to Follow me on Facebook, and come back again soon!

Be Mine, Valentine

photo-1   Be Mine, Valentine!  I just love this adorable little bee, and his sweet message.  What better image to adorn this sweet Hershey Nugget treat holder?    Today is the Pals Blog Hop, but I choose not to participate in the blog hop.  Why?  I was transferring the hosting of my blog and had some technical difficulties.  Because I did not want to compromise the blog hop, I chose to not participate; just in case my blog wasn’t up & running in time.  But I still want to show off this little treat holder.

Easy Peasy to make, thanks to our new Scallop Top Tag Punch.  Just cut a piece of cardstock (I used Primrose Petals) to 2″ x 8-1/2″.  Score at 3-1/2″ and 4-7/8″ then punch each end.  Wrap Hershey Nuggets in coordinating DSP (I used 2012-2014 In Color DSP).  Cut the DSP to 1″ x 3-1/2″.  I placed four nuggets in the treat holder, folded it up and tied it together with Raspberry Ripple ribbon.  The bee was stamped in Smoky Slate ink, and punched with the full heart punch.  Another heart was punched in Raspberry Ripple cardstock and the two hearts were adhered to the face of the treat holder.  A tiny heart from the owl builder punch fits perfectly inside the bee’s wing.

Easy enough to churn these out by the dozen!  So be the coolest mom in school when you send your child to school with these sweet treats for Valentine’s.

To order any products, just click on a link or click here to go directly to my store.  I sure do appreciate your orders.  Don’t forget, Sale-A-Bration is in full swing; for every $50 of product you order, you can choose any one item from the Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin Space today.  Come back again.

You & Me, Woo-Hoo!My first project is light and airy.

I love the colors in this pattern, and the random dots just adds to the playfulness of this paper, a new DSP which will be FREE in the soon-to-be released Sale-A-Bration catalog.  I was free to choose from so many colors so I  used Pool Party, Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Canteloupe, and Sahara Sand papers & inks.  “Perfect Pennants” from the Occasions catalog provided the You & Me sentiment.  (This comes as part of bundle too, with Banner Framelits dies to save you money!)  It also provided the longer banner image too.

“Just Sayin’” is another stamp set in the Occasions catalog and it’s coordinating Word Bubble Framelits dies (another bundle to save you money!)  is where the ‘woo-hoo’ comes from.

I can’t reveal pics of the products in the Sale-A-Bration catalog until it goes live, but…. see the smaller banner image?  It’s another sneak peek from the Sale-A-Bration catalog  (Spoiler Alert:  This stamp set has a coordinating punch to give you that perfect flagged end every time).  Love a stamp set & punch!

IMG_3124My second project is dark and has such strong contrast.  This design comes from the same package of DSP as above.   This paper reminded me of a blackboard with colored chalk.  So naturally, I wanted to do a chalk technique for the sentiment.  “Just Sayin'” provided the gee, thanks word bubble that already looks like it was written in chalk.  Perfect!  The coordinating Word Bubble Framelits dies perfectly cropped the word bubble.

Both projects feature a new DSP, available Jan. 28th during Sale-A-Bration.  As with all the items in the Sale-A-Bration catalog, it’s FREE with a $50 product order (before tax & shipping).  Each of the bundles mentioned above are priced just under $50 depending on wood or clear, but when you add an accessory or two, or a consumable item like adhesive, cardstock, ink or envelopes, you’ve reached the point to earn a FREE sale-a-bration item!

So buy a bundle, get Free stuff!  It doesn’t get much better than that!
