What goes best with your favorite Stamp Set?

What goes with your favorite Stamps?  Ink of course!

25 stamps at 25% offYour favorite stamps are on sale, so you have no excuse to not fill your wish list now.  (Stamp sets make great gifts too!  Add a package of our new Cut & Ready Card Bases, and an ink pad and you’re good to go! )

HERE’S THE DEAL:   Help me sell 25 stamp sets and your name will be entered to win not one, but two Classic Ink pads – your choice of colors.  For every stamp set you purchase from the 25 sets that are on sale (see list here), your name will be entered into a contest.  When I have sold 25 stamp sets, I will randomly choose one name and that person will win!  When I have sold 50 stamp sets, I will choose another winner and that person will also win 2 Classic Ink pads!

I know you want to order these stamps while they are on sale. (After all, how often do you have the chance to save 25% on stamp sets?)  And I know you want to win the Free Ink Pads.  So the choice is clear, order your favorite stamp sets from me now, while they are on sale, and then cross your fingers, say your prayers and wait for me to email you saying “You’re the Winner!  What color ink pads do you want?”  It’s that easy.  Confetti will even fall down from the sky at that magic moment!  (Ok, maybe that part is a bit over-dramatic but it would really add to the effect if it would happen, don’t you think?)

While you’re shopping in my on-line store, don’t forget about our weekly dealsThis weeks’ deals (10/22 -10-28) can be found here.

And if you are into digital,  the newest downloads for MDS can be found here.

So there you have it.  What are waiting for?  Start shopping!  Come back and let me know how many qualifying stamp sets you ordered, and I’ll enter your name into the contest that many times.  Your chances of winning increase with every qualifying stamp set you purchase.

Thanks,

Nancy

Toil & Trouble

So often I make cards and really like looking at them, but can’t really decorate my house with cards.  So I decided to make card fronts, just slightly larger than normal, and fill a collage frame.  Problem solved!  Now my cards are works of art that I can display in my home.  And, I can switch out the ‘art’ whenever I want to!  Pretty clever if I do say so myself.

Toil & Trouble Collage

The stamp set Toil & Trouble (#131724 wood, # 131727 clear) was used for the images.  Several different techniques were used (the raven was heat embossed with black embossing powder onto DSP,  the skulls were made using the ‘ghosting’ technique {how appropriate, right?} with white craft ink and black embossing powder.  The “eye of newt” image was colored with markers and cropped out using the coordinating apothecary cart framelit dies.  And the skeleton was stamped and die cut with the ovals framelits with another oval behind.  A little heart from the Owl Builder Punch was placed onto my skeleton, too!)

If you would like this, but don’t want to make it, I am offering this finished photo collage for $25 plus shipping, or $20 plus shipping  for those who like me on facebook (www.facebook.com/mystampinspace).

If you would like to order this yourself, Click Here to go to my online store where you can buy all the supplies you need to create this.  If you like, you can order your choice of products valued between $25 and $26.95 and have it ship to you for FREE, when you choose the $25 Starter Kit.  You’ll get all the discounts and perks of a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator without any pressure to sell thru March 2014 and no further obligation.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin Space today.  See you soon!

Trick or Treat? Pals October Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for the Pals Halloween Blog Hop. We hope you enjoy our virtual trick-or treat hop where you will either learn great tricks for your creative projects or enjoy a blog candy treat.
You should have just left stop number 14 on the Pals Hop – Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven’s Retreat. If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

Toil & Trouble Treat Holders

These adorable little treat holders, crafted from the Toil & Trouble stamp set and coordinating Apothecary Accents Framelits dies are the perfect way to present a candy bar to all the goblins & ghouls at your door on Halloween!  (These are holding snack size KitKat bars and a snack size Hershey bar and are headed for my co-workers).

Here are some “tricks” to help you re-create these yourself.  I created 3 different versions:   I stamped the image in Pumpkin Pie ink onto Pumpkin Pie cardstock, in Tangerine Tango ink on Whisper White cardstock, and Versamark ink onto Basic Black cardstock.  This piece was then covered with Tangerine Tango Embossing Powder and heat embossed.  This looks striking, don’t you think?  I could not have achieved that dramatic look with ink alone but embossing powder transforms the whole look.  Strong colors pop against the black background.

Tip:  Always use your embossing buddy, especially when using dark cardstock.  Embossing Buddy This helps so that stray embossing powder doesn’t stick to the cardstock.

Tip:   When using a large stamp, always tap your ink pad onto the stamp, rather than tapping the stamp into the ink pad.  IMG_2796

Tip:  Did you know that Stampin’ Up! upgraded their heat embossing tool?  It now has 2 heat settings.  High works great for heat embossing and low for drying ink.   Just thought you’d want to know. Heat Tool

Tip:  Coordinating dies & stamp sets make papercrafting SO MUCH FUN!!! If you have been reading my blog for any length of time, you know that I buy any stamp set with a coordinating punch or die.  The Toil & Trouble stamp set coordinates with the  Apothecary Accents Framelits dies that I already had so it jumped to the top of my wish list when the Holiday Catalog was released.

After the image is stamped, cut it out with the Framelits dies.

Magnetic PlatformTip:  The magnetic platform for the Big Shot is your new best friend when using the framelits dies.  Trust me, if you don’t already own, this, you must have this.  You will thank me for telling you that.  The magnetic platform holds the framelits die in place so it stays perfectly aligned when you finish creating your sandwich.

IMG_2801

Tip:  If however you don’t yet have the magnetic platform, then a few well placed pieces of a sticky note will help keep things from moving around.

This shape is 5″ long.  To create the pocket, I used the Simply Scored scoring tool and found the center (2-1/2″) point.

Nancy Gleason www.MyStampinSpace.com all images © Stampin’ Up!I then scored a line 2 grooves BEFORE (2-1/4″) and 2 grooves AFTER (2-3/4″) the center point.  This allows me to fold the shape in half but with enough thickness to gently cradle the candy bar!

A hole punched  in the top and a piece of ribbon are all that is needed to tie things together.

IMG_2810IMG_2809IMG_2808

The bird image is from the same stamp set and this was heat embossed using Black Embossing Powder.  It was fussy-cut using our Paper Snips.

Tip:  When fussy-cutting an intricate shape like this, move the paper; not the scissors.  It seems counter-intuitive but it really works!

So, please leave me a comment and tell me which color combo you like best.  (And what kind of candy you would like in your candy holder!)

If you are considering ordering any of the products to  make this, you should really check out our $25 Starter Kit promotion.  See my post from yesterday for all the details and why it makes more sense to Join now rather than place an order.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space.  Now hop along to see all the other projects the Pals have in store for you.  But make sure to come back and hang out in My Stampin Space again soon.  Thanks!   Nancy

Congrats to the Newlyweds!

Some of you may have been wondering where I’ve been; I haven’t been posting very much lately.  I’m still here but I’ve had a lot going in my life lately; all good I must say!  The most exciting is that my step-daughter just got married this past weekend!   We are so pleased to welcome Brian into our family, and with him, his 2 sons!

Below is the card I made for the newlyweds.  It is simple and elegant, with a black & white theme and just a bit of silver sparkle thrown for good measure.  The sentiment, from “Loving Thoughts”,  is my wish for them and their marriage; Forever & Always!

Forever & AlwaysI apologize that the color isn’t spot on; I do seem to have trouble photographing white.

This card is made from Whisper White card stock with a layer of Basic Black and another layer of Whisper White.  That skinny little layer of black adds so much don’t you think?

A strip of Basic Black is the perfect backdrop for the Whisper White banner sporting the sentiment “Forever & Always”; my wish for their marriage!  A rosette made from Basic Black DSP (from the Neutrals Designer Paper Stack) is placed atop 2 strips of Silver Shimmer Paper.  The diamond image on the tiny scallop circle is from the new Photopolymer stamp set “Another Thank You” stamped in Silver ink and a little Rhinestone Jewel for added bling.

Loving Thoughts - Clear-Mount Stamp                       Another Thank You Photopolymer Stamp Set

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin Space today.  Be sure to come back soon, you won’t want to miss the Pals October Blog Hop on Tuesday, Oct. 8th.  It will be a ghoulish good time, complete with Tricks & Treats!    See you then!

My Spooky Banner

Spooky BannerHere is a picture of my fireplace mantel sporting the new Spooky Banner I created using the new Build A Banner Simply Created Kit (item # 133507) and the coordinating Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (item # 132698).  The banner couldn’t have been easier to make; a short learning curve for me try both spritzing and sponging ( I ultimately opted for the sponging).

The banner kit contains 18 canvas pennants in 3 shapes, 3 background stencils (stripes, dots & chevron patterns), a stencil mask and alphabet stencils plus jute for hanging and a spritzer tool.  Because I opted for the sponging, the drying time was minimal meaning I could apply the colored background pattern and the text without waiting.  The accessory kit made decorating the banner a snap.  The kits are designed to include everything you need, just add ink and adhesives!  It could not be simplier.

I opted to use a few things on mine that weren’t in the kit, and likewise, didn’t use a few things that were, to make the banner ‘mine’ although I did try to stay as close to the banner shown on pages 4 & 5 of the Holiday Catalog to show how easy it is to create that.

The close-ups show you the rosette and pre-printed and glitter die-cut pieces that come with the accessory kit.  Are you digging the black Vintage Designer Faceted Buttons?  They are exclusive to this kit.

Since the kit contains 18 pennants, I will be able to make a banner for Thanksgiving and Christmas, in addition to this Halloween banner, from just one kit!

If you would like to order the Build-A-Banner Simply Created Kit (Item # 133507),   the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (item # 132698) or the Christmas Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit (item # 132697) – not shown, simply click the item name or Click Here to go to my on-line store where you can shop safely from the comfort of your own home.

Have you seen the new Envelope Punch Board?  No, well, I created a short video showing you this newest tool that is going to totally transform the way you make cards, and envelopes!  Don’t believe me?  Watch the video and see for yourself:

I know, now you want one;  you just can’t live without it, can you?  You are already thinking of all the cards you are going to make of odd sizes that you never dared make before, because you didn’t have an envelope.  The Envelope Punch Board is item # 133774 and it is available to order now.  You’re welcome 🙂

While you’re shopping, don’t forget to check out the Clearance RackWhere do all your favorite stamps, tools, accessories & embellishments go when they retire?  To the clearance rack!  And the Clearance Rack was just reloaded.  All items are deeply discounted and are only available while supplies last so don’t wait!  Click Here to shop the Clearance Rack.!

I’d love to see the Banner you create!   Just go to my on-line store and buy a banner kit, and an accessory kit if you so choose, and create your banner.  Then snap a pic and email it to me; I’ll post your banner pic on my blog!  It’s that simple 🙂

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin Space today.

Punch it Out!

I’m so excited over the newest tool offered by Stampin’ Up! – an envelope punch tool!  It allows you to make envelopes in almost size you could want from a sheet of paper! (Instructions are included for 66 different sizes)  Imagine custom sized envelopes in any color or from DSP to coordinate with your hand made card.
Watch the video below to see this cool tool in action:

I know, you want one, don’t you? Actually, you don’t just want one; you NEED one. That was my first thought when I watched this video too. I ordered mine and it arrived last week, but, (I’m almost embarrassed to admit this) I haven’t had time to play with it yet! Yikes, what am I waiting for? Well, a total bedroom remodeling project has been consuming all of my time beginning from last Thursday and is still not complete. I’ve been talking about wanting to do this for over a year now, so when hubby said, “Let’s do it” I couldn’t tell him, I was too busy stamping and making envelopes so my paper crafting got put on hold.

Well if you’d like to get your hands on this cool envelope making tool, just click here. You’ll be instantly transported to my on-line store where you can securely and easily order this for yourself, and order as many as you’d like for anyone else you know who loves to make cards and play with paper! Trust me, they’ll thank you for it.  And at $19.95 you can afford to get several.

Envelope Punch Board   Order # 133774     $19.95 and it includes the scoring tool and two punches for making the envelope and rounding the corners.

While you are ordering the Envelope Punch Board, don’t forget to stock up on Designer Series Paper too!  Go to my on-line store here.

Avoid the Frenzy – Start Planning for the Holidays Now

Every year, I think I am going to start my planning for the holiday season early to avoid the frenzied chaos I usually wind up in, but my good intentions don’t always pan out.  My problem is, I don’t have a PLAN for my planning; no way of organizing what I’m planning in my head. I write things down (sometimes) but then I can’t find my notes. I cut out a recipe, but don’t remember where I put it. Sound familiar?

But this year, Stampin’ Up! has my back. They’ve actually given me a plan for my planning, an organizer for my organizing.

If my story sounds like yours, then we both need The Season of Style This & THAT journal. Watch the video below to see how this will organize your holiday season so you can keep it all together this year.

Get Well Wishes

IMG_2364

I needed a get well card for a man so I wanted something clean & simple and with masculine colors. Sahara Sand and Island Indigo DSP pair up beautifully for a wonderful color combination that’s masculine but not drab.

“Everything Eleanor” and “Perfectly Penned” were the stamp sets I used.  I stamped the background in Sahara Sand ink on whisper white cardstock; my paper snips made easy work to accurately cut this out.  The Get Well sentiment was stamped in Island Indigo ink onto Whisper White paper.  The Apothecary Accents framelits popped out that die cut shape in no time.  I used the Candy Dots in Island Indigo (Regals Collection # 130932)  and the Candy  Dots Brad Bases to accent the die cut shape and sentiment.  They really add a finished touch, don’t you think?

You can click on any of the underlined items listed above and be instantly and magically transported to my on-line store where you can purchase that featured item along with anything else your heart desires!  If your order totals $150 or more (before shipping & tax) you will even earn bonus dollars so you can maximize your purchasing power – that’s right.  More power to you!

Everything Eleanor Clear-Mount Stamp Set
#131987 (W) $ 36.95

#122892 (C) $ 12.95

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space.  I hope this simple layout and color combination inspired you when you need to make a masculine card, or just want something quick that doesn’t take alot of time.  Please leave me a comment, and come back to My Stampin Space again!

Happy Stampin’

Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas

“Merry Little Christmas” (#131826-wood, #131829-clear) was a stamp set that went straight to the top of my wish list my first trip thru the 2013 Holiday Catalog.  Why?  Because it’s part of a bundle!  Anytime I see a product bundle, I know that A)  the products will coordinate well together, and B) I’ll save money!

This catalog is full of kits, great for the busy crafter!  This stamp set comes bundled with a card kit for easy card-making without a lot of fuss and includes everything except ink & adhesives (basic supplies you probably have on hand).

For this card, I used a gray, red & green color combo.  There’s a layer of Smoky Slate card stock, then a layer of Real Red followed by a piece of DSP  (retired – I am bound & determined to use as much of my retired DSP as I can!)  .  The image is stamped in Real Red onto Whisper White cardstock.  I then stamped the image again on Whisper White using Gumball Green and snipped out the ‘little’ banner using my paper snips and popped it up on stampin dimensional.  The little bit of grey behind it offset gives it some flair.  The finishing touch is the Gumball Green ribbon.

The next item I had to have were the Expressions Thinlits Dies #132171.  I loved the font and the size of each word.  IMG_2601Check out the spread on pages 10-11 in the catalog for some great ideas with this die.

These two cards were whipped out in minutes!  (Thanks to the Pals for the great tip about using wax paper to help get the cardstock out of the die! – No thanks to my family for leaving an empty roll in the wax paper box in my cabinet and not letting me know we were out!  – But that’s a different story!)

Red Glimmer Paper and Silver Glimmer Paper and punches created the designs.  (The Mosaic Madness punch and a line of mini pearls makes a great ornament, don’t you think?)  Need a quick card that you can mass produce but doesn’t cut corners on cuteness?  These thinlits will get the job done for you!  Another reason I like this set – it spans 3 holidays.  Plus I could see using the Love sentiment for more than just Valentine’s Day.

Mojo Monday 300

This week is a milestone for Mojo Monday; the weekly sketch challenge blog where anyone, and everyone, is invited to play along!  I love participating in sketch challenges because they help me develop & hone my paper crafting skills by stretching myself a little bit  It’s also so rewarding when people leave comments about your project!  So the big milestone is that this is the 300th weekly sketch challenge!  Congrats Mojo Monday!

So here is the sketch:              and my entry:

Mojo Monday 300   Mojo Monday 300

I needed to get a jump start on my July Birthday cards and this sketch was just what I needed to get my mojo on!  I couldn’t wait to start using my new Birthday Basic DSP:  I just love the colors and the fun & festive patterns of this Designer Series paper.  The “Create a Cupcake” stamp set & builder punch coordinate with the birthday theme.

Love this paper?  Right now you can take advantage of the Buy 3, Get 1 Free special going on and you can stock up on this, and other patterns of DSP.  Click here to see the details on this special and start shopping now.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin Space; please leave me a comment.  I love to hear from you.   Happy Stampin’ – Nancy
