Clearly New Stamps Are Here!

Photopolymer Stamps are here!

What is photopolymer you ask?  Watch this video and find out!

We’ve searched long and hard for just the right material to be able to introduce completely clear stamping. And we’ve found it. We’re excited to announce that we now have wood-mount, clear-mount AND photopolymer stamps! The new photopolymer will be an addition to our stamp line and will appeal to all types of stampers. Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let’s just say they’re meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.

What makes them so great?

  • They’re entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don’t worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They’re age tested. They won’t yellow or cloud up over time.
  • They use FDA, food-safe material. How far can you stretch your stamping creativity?
  • We could go on, but we’ll let you try them for yourself.

They are clearly a great choice.

Thank You, Eleanor

Thank you Eleanor

When the annual catalog for 2012 was released last June, one of the first stamp sets to make it to the top of my ‘must-have’ list was Everything Eleanor.  The swirl/flourish image, the vintage background image, the pretty flowers & bird, the bordered circle image (just right for journaling in a scrapbook), all called my name.  But for some reason, it is one of my most under-used stamp sets too!  I set out to change that this weekend.  With a boatload of thank-you cards that I need to make and send out, this was the first set I turned to, even though it doesn’t have a thank-you sentiment in the set.  For that, I enlisted the help of a new friend, Pretty Petites which I got for FREE from the current Sale-A-Bration catalog along with the coordinating Petite Curly Label Punch which I also got for FREE during Sale-A-Bration.  And they coordinate with the Curly Label Punch for layered goodness.  A simple piece of ribbon and a pearl for finishing touches and I’m all done. My color combination was a monochromatic look starting with Very Vanilla cardstock, Sahara Sand ink for the background swirl, Soft Suede ink to stamp the worn background image and Early Espresso cardstock and ink for the Thank You sentiment.

The items I used are featured below or you can click on the hyperlink above and go straight to my online store and order these products for yourself.   Everything Eleanor Clear-Mount Stamp Set

Hello, Pals Paper Art #153

PPA153 Sketch Challenge

PPA153w-frameGet ready! It’s time for another fun Pals Paper Arts challenge! This week, our Resident Artist, Margaret Moody, has a new sketch for us.

Pals Paper Art

I’m Loving the Print Poetry Designer Series paper stack from the new Spring catalog.
I’m also loving the new Petite Curly Label punch and matching Pretty Petites stamp set that coordinates with it – both of which I for for FREE from our Sale-A-Bration promotion going on now.  Gotta love that!  The other thing I love, Summer Starfruit!  Each time I use that color, I like it more & more.  And that 3/8″ stitched satin ribbon is such a nice ribbon; it’s soft and drapes nicely but yet holds its shape and ties so well.  I have this ribbon in each of the 5 In-Colors it’s offered in.
I love the new In-Colors for 2012-2014 and love the way our colors coordinate throughout the product line; from cardstock to DSP, to ink, to ribbon & accessories.
What’s your favorite In-Color?  Leave me a comment and let me know.
Thanks for stopping by My Stampin Space today.  Come back again, until then, Happy Stampin’!

Mojo Monday, Baby!

Well today is Monday so it’s time to get your Mojo on with the stampers over at Mojo Monday.  Here is the sketch that was provided and below that you’ll see my take on it.

I needed to make a baby card and this layout provided just the right basis for that.  I used the image from Embellished Events and the sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners.  The coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits  and a quick pass thru the Big Shot machine made easy work of cutting out the banner in the same shape as the stamped image.  The Big Shot and my Circles #2 die made easy work of cutting out all the circles, too and as well as adding the Polka Dots embossing to the solid color circle.   My color combination of Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple came from the luscious Print Poetry Designer Series paper stack available in the Spring Catalog.

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my entry for today’s challenge.  Now, its’ time for YOU to get your mojo on.  Use this sketch for your project.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this project – if you really like it, feel free to pin it to your Pinterest board or share it with a friend thru Facebook.  Happy Stampin’!

See you soon!  – Nancy

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love is in the air….

Frilly, roses, lace, chocolate – these are the things I think of when I think of Valentine’s Day.  So, while I usually don’t do frilly & lacey or vintage, I really wanted to do that for my Valentine’s Day Card.  So here it is:

Valentine's Day, hearts, roses, double bow, order Stampin Up, Stampin Up products, lace, Hearts a Flutter, Nancy GleasonWell, what do you think?  Please leave me a comment and let me know.     My initial inspiration was two-fold:  I fell in love with the Artisan Embellishment Kit (Spring Catalog pg. 10) as soon as I saw it.  I don’t know why because I normally don’t do all that frilly.  Maybe it was because for only $10 I was able to get a whole bunch of embellishments that I normally wouldn’t buy if I had to purchase each item individually.   I can branch out into the vintage world without a big cash outlay.

My second inspiration was the Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding.  I knew just the bow I wanted to make for my card.  The Seam Binding ribbon falls so nicely and makes the perfect ‘romantic’ bow.  My Valentine’s Day card wouldn’t be complete without this bow!  The bow is my favorite part, especially with the seam binding ribbon rose in the center.

Putting it all together, I had predetermined my color combo would be Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake & a touch of Chocolate Chip for an accent color.  But when I pulled all my colors out, the Crumb Cake seemed too overpowering for this card.  So I dialed it down a notch by using Sahara Sand in its place.  I love Sahara Sand, so neutral but not plain Jane.  Beautiful & Soft.  Yup, that was the right color.  And Chocolate Chip gave way to Early Espresso as it just seemed to fit better.  As always, I start with a plan but let my creativity take over and just go in the direction things are calling me.

The hearts were stamped and die cut using the Hearts A Flutter stamp set and coordinating Framelits Die.   I love when I can get a stamp set and the coordinating framelits dies, and it’s even better when you can buy them as a bundle and save a bundle!  They were accented with Smooch Spritz in Vanilla Shimmer because every Valentine needs a smooch!  The heart on the right was outlined with our Pearl Basic Jewels.

The large lacey ribbon is part of the Artisan Embellishment kit. The fabric roses are the 5/8″ Flower Trim available in the Spring Catalog.  A string of roses; you can cut them apart to use individually or use a length as I did here.   They can be colored with our ink for endless possibilities!  Love them!

The sentiment is provided by Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits Dies.

I hope my hubby loves this card as much as I enjoyed making it.   Paired with a Dove Milk Chocolate bar (that’s his fav!) and I think I’ll get my message across!

And who knows, you just may see some more vintage, lacy & feminine from me in the future!

Thanks for stopping into My Stampin Space and sharing Valentine’s Day with me.  Come back & hang out with me again.

Nancy

February Pals Blog Hop

2013janhop_badge
Thank you for joining us for the February Pals Blog Hop! Today the Stampin’ Pretty Pals are excited to introduce you to the Stampin’ Up! products we LOVE. We hope you find new ideas for using the products you already have – or find new items to add to your wishlist.

You should have just left stop number 9 on the Pals Hop –

If so, you are in the right spot. If you get off track, the full blog lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.

I am so grateful to be a part of this wonderful blog hop this month, with everything life threw at me lately, I wasn’t sure this was going to happen.

Well the blog hop theme this month is our favorite Stampin’ Up! product.  Well, my favorite thing about Stampin’ Up! is not a thing but a who; it is the awesome group of Pals!  The past few weeks have been especially trying for me and the Pals, a group of stampers from all over the country, have been such a source of support for me!  It is so awesome that this group of people whom I’ve never met face-to-face stood alongside of me, encouraging me and praying for me, and helping me.  If you are looking to be part of group of awesome, talented and caring stampers, then let me introduce you to the Pals.  If that sense of belonging, and sharing of talents is what you crave, then I invite you to join us! Email me or leave me a comment and I’ll show you how you can be a part of this awesome group, too!

But since I can’t showcase the Pals, I did make a card to showcase the things I love about Stampin’ Up!  – the coordination of products.  Stamps match the framelits, dies and punches, so you can pop out a perfectly cut image with just one quick motion.  Inks, cardstock, and designer series paper all match perfectly with our embellishments; ribbons, buttons, brads.  Innovative products, on-trend colors and styles, the highest quality.  It all comes together into the perfect product coordination.  And that is what I love about Stampin’ Up!  Not just one thing, but how all things come together so effortlessly, so perfectly and so creatively.
Pinwheel Die,Hearts a Flutter Framelits Dies, birthday cards
This card starts with a background embossed with our new Honeycomb embossing folder (hexagons are so trendy right now, see what I mean!), and has flags stamped from the Hearts a Flutter stamp set, then popped out with the Hearts a Flutter framelits die for a perfect fit (see the coordination?), another die from the Apothecary Accents Framelits die set provides a beautiful shape for the focal point. (Couldn’t do that with scissors!). The Happy Birthday sentiment comes from the “You’re Amazing” stamp set and is colored with Stampin’ Write markers in just the right colors to match the ink pads used to stamp the flag images and matches the DSP from the Summer Smooches collection. And my favorite item from the new Spring Catalog….(drum roll, please)… is the Pinwheels Framelits die. This cutie-patootie pinwheel is a snap to cut out and assemble. And at less than 5 bucks, its’a bargin too! A brad from the Brights Collection is the matching shade of Daffodil Delight and finishes off the whole project.
Yup, perfect product coordination. That’s what I love the most about Stampin’ Up!

Now to see what the other Pals love, hop on over to Diane Roberts at Score At Four and a Quarter stop number 11 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting – and I hope to see you next month!

A Tribute

My post tonight is a tribute to my father-in-law, Stanley Gleason, and also to my family.  I have been blessed to marry the best man in the whole wide world!  Sorry, all you girls out there who are looking for Mr. Right – he’s taken!  When I married him, I also married into his family; he had 3 daughters, his parents, and grandparents (on his mother’s side).  His parents welcomed me into their family as if I were their own.  I have been blessed to have the worlds best in-laws, too!

Last week, my father-in-law passed away after suffering from a multitude of health problems over the past few years.  We were told on 5 different occasions that he probably wouldn’t live through whatever health issue he was facing at the time.  But, he always pulled through.  In November he entered the hospital with an infection so bad it was spread thru his whole body.  Again, we were told he most likely would not make it thru, but amazingly he did.    No one planned on hosting Thanksgiving Dinner because we thought he wouldn’t be with us and we were taking life one day at time.  Well he got out of ICU and I cooked a turkey and we celebrated Thanksgiving grateful he pulled through.  But it seemed to take such a toll on him, and he told us what we all seemed to know; that he was dying.  He wanted to die at home so on Dec. 1st, we brought him home, with hospice, to die.

Everyone, especially Dad, thought it might only be a few days at best, and again, no one made any plans or preparations for Christmas.  Just taking life one day at a time. Christmas came and New Years came and Dad was still with us.

A hospital bed in the living room, hospice nurses each morning, taking turns sitting with him, became the norm.  Wonderful friends, neighbors, and people from our churches bringing meals kept us nourished without having to think about planning meals and cooking.  Dad was unable to do much, or eat much and became increasing agitated if left alone, even for a few minutes.  So we took turns, staying over, just so Mom could shower, sleep, and take care of basic household chores.   Nightime was hard because Dad wouldn’t sleep at all so whoever was there didn’t sleep either. Mom found it difficult to go into the bedroom and leave Dad so most nights she didn’t sleep either.  Needless to say, we all were exhausted & sleep deprived.

But the last weekend of January, Dad was getting especially weak, Mom was so exhausted we thought she was going to collapse so we decided to move Dad to the inpatient hospice unit for 5 days of respite for Mom.   That morning Dad stopped being able to swallow and it was the beginning of the end.  God, in His providence, placed Dad where he needed to be, and removed a burden that was too great from Mom.  On Jan. 30th, Dad celebrated his 83rd birthday, although he was unable to do anymore than just open his eyes and squeeze your hand.  Early the next morning, Dad left this world to go home.

I made the following video as a tribute to him; it was shown at his memorial service.  Stanley W. Gleason – A Celebration of Life

It is not good-bye, but until we see you again!

Wishing You Happiness…

I was inspired to make this quick little Valentine’s project after teaching a class on Digitial Scrapbooking last week.

valentines-001What I love about digital designing is that you can try out different color combos, embellishments, stamps, and not waste any paper!  Every stamped image always looks good, no more uneven stamped images, or mis-cut paper.  The undo key is a digi-scrappers best friend!  I love being able to color each part of an image in a different color.  I used the re-color option to color each part of the stamp in different color on the card above.    If you would like to try out digi-scrapping without any commitment, click here or on the free 30-day trial of MDS2 on the right and get started.

And we know that you probably have lots of digital photos just waiting to be inserted into a digital scrapbook!  So go ahead, you’ll have fun!

Digital Downloads for MDS2 digital scrapbooking software

Well, it’s Wednesday so it’s time for “What’s New Wednesday!”– each week on Wednesday, I’ll be sharing something new; whether it’s a new product, a new promotion, or a new technique.  I’m in a digital mood this week due to the digital scrapbooking class that I’m teaching so today I thought I’d share the newest digital downloads available for MDS2.

Each week, Stampin’ Up! introduces new downloads for the MDS2 program.  You can find them all right here.  Remember with Sale-A-Bration in full swing, for every $50 you spend on products (including downloads), you get a free Sale-A-Bration item.  You can choose to get a free disc with all the Sale-A-Bration content on it.  How cool it that?

Mojo Monday 275

The design team over at Mojo Monday gave us yet another great sketch to work with this week.  Check out the sketch to the left, I can see so many possibilities.  I needed to whip up a quick birthday card for a friend who will be celebrating her birthday later this week and used this sketch as the basis for that card.

I also had some scraps of paper from the Summer Smooches DSP #125409 laying out on my workspace and this sketch is also a great way to use up  those strips of paper we all seem to accumulate.  So, without any further ado,  here’s my card!  MojoMonday 275

I love the Blue & Yellow color combination, especially Daffodil Delight and Island Indigo.  So crisp and cheerful!  The Mixed Blossom stamp set and the coordinating Blossom punch make stamping & cutting out the flower a snap.  The flower center is accented with a Glimmer Brad from our Brights Collection.

The sentiment is stamped with our Itty Bitty Banners stamp set and a quick trip through the Big Shot with the coordinating Bitty Banners Framelits , and presto!  A perfectly coordinated banner.

Thanks for stopping by My Stampin’ Space.  Leave me a comment and tell me what you think of my entry.  Then, go make a project yourself using this sketch and show me what you’ve done.

Happy Stampin!

Nancy

PPA150

PPA150 Color Challenge

The first color challenge of the new year was just what I needed to get me back in the saddle again!  I realized that I haven’t stamped, or posted anything on my blog for over 6 weeks until just the other day.  I NEEDED to get back to stamping to get my sanity back.  Stamping is therapy!    I love the color combination that our pals came up with.

So here is my entry:  I hope you like it.

PPA150

I used Melon Mambo embossing powder to emboss the flower image and sentiment.

I thought the flower needed a little bling so I added a center from Silver Glimmer paper topped with a jumbo pearl which I colored black.

Thanks for stopping into My  Stampin’ Space.  Come back again, or better yet, sign-up to receive my newsletter or subscribe to my RSS Feedburner Feed so you’ll never miss a post!

Happy Stampin’
